High-quality hydroponics grow lamps at competitive prices

If you are purchasing grow lamps for the first time, you may be a little bit overwhelmed by the options you have to choose from. This can leave a lot of people feeling confused. But there is no need to fret, as our handy step-by-step guide should help you below.

Step One: Choose between HPS bulbs and MH bulbs

The first thing you need to determine is whether to go for HPS bulbs or MH bulbs. HPS (High-Pressure Sodium) bulbs last slightly longer. They promote flowering because they emit strong light at the red/orange end of the spectrum. However, leggy growth may be produced with these bulbs. MH (Metal Halide) bulbs emit light that is strongest at the spectrum’s blue end. It produces leafy and compact growth. MH bulbs are generally used for the vegetative stage of growth while HPS bulbs are used for the flowering stage.

Step Two: Determine what wattage you require

The next part of the process is determining what wattage you require. You will find everything from 150w to 1000w on our website. It is vital to remember that HID lights are twice as efficient as fluorescent lights. Therefore, when buying a 500w-HID lamp you are actually benefiting from as much light as what a 1000w fluorescent light would produce.

Step Three: Compatibility with ballast

Aside from this, you need to make sure that the hydroponics grow lamps you purchase are ideal for your grow room. They need to be compatible with your ballasts and any other equipment you may use in conjunction, such as a reflector. There is nothing more frustrating than buying all of your equipment only to discover that they do not actually work together.
